Learn more about the Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Kent and Medway.

Farmers, growers, landowners and land managers are critical to the delivery of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy, enabling nature recovery alongside food production.

The LNRS is going to inform land management and planning decisions, public and private sector funding, and will have links to Environmental Land Management Schemes (ELMS) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG).

The final part of the LNRS development is the production of the maps to identify “areas that could become of importance for biodiversity” – in essence, maps that show opportunity for nature recovery to be focused or expanded on.

It is these maps that will be used to target action and investment to where it will deliver the greatest gains for nature recovery and wider environmental benefits. The maps will also help land use planning to direct harmful impacts away from our most valuable assets.

We are holding informal meetings to provide an opportunity for farmers, growers, landowners and land managers to learn more about the LNRS.

We need your help to review initial draft maps, input your local knowledge and expertise to help refine them and make the land management actions proposed practical and deliverable. You are free to drop in at any time.

Please book your free place so that we can arrange the catering.
